- Magic Kingdom: Main Street-Walt Disney Story
- The Walt Disney Story attraction that occupied the first building to the
right as you enter the town square from under the railroad depot, closed in
October 1992. (This attraction reopened in 1996 as the 25th Anniversary Welcome
Center.)
- Magic Kingdom: Frontierland-Splash Mountain
- Splash Mountain, the home of Brer Rabbit and his friends, opened in July,
1992. This attraction brings to life Disney's classic 1946 movie, Song
of the South. The deceptively lazy ride through the inside of "Chickapin
Hill" takes you on a colorful journey through the briar patch in your own
hollowed-out log. But watch out! The ride ends in a thrilling 52-foot drop
at 40 miles per hour down the outdoors 45-degree flume, the steepest in the
world.
- Magic Kingdom: Frontierland-Frontierland Train Station
- The original Frontierland Train Station, which was closed during the construction
of Splash Mountain, reopened July 1992 with the opening of Splash Mountain.
It is in a new location, between Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.
- Resorts: Dixie Landings
- Walt Disney World's Dixie Landings Resort, which opened in February,
1992, is designed to provide additional mid-range accommodations in a Mississippi
river plantation setting. The guestrooms are all located in the numerous southern
manor-style buildings that comprise the resort. Dixie Landings is one of the
EPCOT resorts, although it is the most distant from EPCOT, and is located
just beyond the Port Orleans Resort on Bonnet Creek Parkway.
- Studios: Voyage of
the Little Mermaid
- The Voyage of
the Little Mermaid opened on January 7, 1992, replacing Here Come the Muppets.
This multi-media presentation tells the story of the Little Mermaid in 15
minutes through the very effective use of black-light puppetry, animation,
live action and various special effects.
