Plaza at the end of Main Street closed in 1983.
EPCOT: Future World-Journey into Imagination
- The first new Future World pavilion to be added to the original
roster, Journey into Imagination opened in 1983. The theme of this pavilion
is the creativity of imagination. The attraction consists of three areas.
The ride area takes you into the world of the Dreamfinder and his little companion
Figment, where you explore the various aspects of imagination. The Image Works
area offers a wide variety of interactive experiences that allow you to express
your creativity. The Magic Eye Theatre presents a short 3-D motion picture
using a new 65mm process.

EPCOT: Future World-Horizons - The second
new Future World pavilion to be added to the original roster, Horizons opened
October 1, 1983. The theme of this pavilion is the future. Ride vehicles transport
you first through the view of the future as it was envisioned in the past.
Then you are taken to three communities as they might exist in the next century:
A desert farm, an underwater city, and a city in outer space.
